3. First Wash

Sheets are soaked in a gentle caustic soda bath.

4. Crumbled to Begin Again

The softened sheets are broken into small, fluffy crumbs.

5. Molecular Magic

Crumbs are treated with carbon disulfide to become silky-soft.

6. Second Wash

A syrupy solution is formed, smooth and ready to spin.

7. Spun into Thread

The liquid is extruded through tiny holes, forming fine fibers.

8. Finished for Wear
